The Baby Grocery Store is proud to announce that we will now be a drop off location for Bright Blessings donations for their Bless-A-Baby program! The Bless-A-Baby program brings help and hope to babies that are born into homelessness or experience homelessness within the first 18 months of life. Each Blessing Basket is tailor made and hand delivered for the child and mother who will receive it. The baskets are filled with new clothing, baby hygiene items, blankets, food, healthcare supplies, gifts, books, as well as “caring for baby” educational materials for the mother. This program provides hundreds of baskets to homeless babies across our community every year. Bless-A-Baby not only brings happiness and stress relief to homeless mothers, it provides essentials for the care of needy babies, giving each child a healthier and more positive start to life.
Bright Blessings was started in 2005 by a local Mint Hill NC mom and her husband when they began a family service project to help needy children. They now help homeless families across a 4-county area and roughly help 3,200 children and babies a year. Bright Blessings now has 3 programs designed for homeless children- Bless-A-Baby, Bless-A-Birthday, and Gift of Literacy. They are a volunteer led non-profit that runs solely on donations.
All donations must be new and unopened. Some items that you can donate are:
- Diapers - Newborn & Size 1
- Rectangular Laundry Baskets
- Sleepers (Boys and Girls) Newborn & 0-3 Months
- Hooded bath towels
- Burp Cloths
- Pacifiers
- Receiving Blankets
- Diaper Bags
- Giant Gift Sacks (36×44)
- Outfits (Newborn)
Bright Blessings will be on site at The Baby Grocery Store August 17 from 1-3 p.m. during the MomsCharlotte.com Back to School Smoothie Taste Off! You can bring your donations or purchase items at the store.
